Our Dear Friends
Last week it was the week of war withe the pain for Andrew. Multiple visits doctors Hospice. Ks. Jerzy Popieluszko, setting their analgesic treatment and waiting for the results ...
Because of the worse-being and enhancing breathlessness yesterday Andrew went to the hospital. Imaging was performed and revealed the presence of fluid. This morning the doctors said that there is not enough fluid eligible to download. The fluid has a brown discoloration which may indicate infection. Now we are waiting for the results of these tests of fluid ...

Day 313 - Andrew getting chemo today
Dear Friends!
we have some good news. With the help of our Guardian Angels managed to accelerate the application of chemioteraphy for today.
Andrew is already in Fordon on blood tests, and then must wait for the results and we hope that nothing stands in the way, he gets chemioteraphy.
He is very glad that it managed to speed it up because he is very troubled by his pains. Altogether, both right and left side. But the radiotherapy was not addressed to diffuse the right lung and Andrew really counting on chemioteraphy.
Andrew also has problems with swallowing because of the side effects of radiotherapy, I feel a burning sensation and difficulty in swallowing when eating. Take already in connection with this drug, but the treatment takes a long time, and apparently no significant improvement immediately.
Day 304 - the last one - fifth day of radiotherapy treatment
On Friday, Andrew really hurt the left side of the chest, he feared that the cause of the heart . Ambulance took him to the hospital. There has undergone a series of tests to rule out cardiac cause of pain ailments. Fortunately cardio all turned out to be fine.
In a telephone consultation with his doctor of oncology they decided to take a break in radiotherapy till Monday. This pain can cause swelling of the tumor as a result of radiation therapy.
Andrew yesterday adopted a fourth treatment exposure, today - the fifth. He take all the time Sevredol (morphine) preventive and thus pain, so it is not annoying.
Doctors also decided that two weeks after radiotherapy Andrew received chemotherapy (name Winereblina) . He enrolled at the clinic today on 3rd December at 13.00 and that day he will get chemiotherapy.
CT scanner control after radiotherapy performed about one month after the last treatment to see how take effect.
So we wait.
Day 298 - Today at 10:00 am Andrew is the second radiation treatment
Dear Friends!
Yesterday Andrew said that after radiotherapy do not really feel that something bad happened to him. Maybe it's still too early for side effects. Or maybe his strong body does not handle this so bad! We believe it!
He complained again only on the right side of the lungs, it teases him that he was suffocating and he feels that there is something going wrong.
Today, he is to appear at 10.00 on a blood test, followed him to go into a room, where they will make radiotherapy.
And then back to the house.

Day 297 - Andrew has the first radiation today at 12:30PM
Andrew is going to Fordon, to the hospital now. About 12.30 he has the visit about the radiation. We do not know how long they will keep him in the hospital. On Friday, albeit no longer they put him signs on the body to do the radiation, it can now be even specify before the surgery, we'll see ....
Today he still feel the same, no change, nothing better. We hope the side effects of radiotherapy were not very troublesome for him would be as soon as he felt better.
We pray for it.
Day 293 - in Gliwice Andrew received another aid
Dear Friends!
In Gliwice learned that the knife Cybernetic therapy is not possible in the case of Andrew disease. It is used for tumor size to 6cm ( Andrew tumor has now 75x76mm ) and the condition is no metastases to lymph nodes of the abdomen . The television program that was watching Aunt told otherwise but what do we do ?
The doctor with whom we were in consultation commissioned radiotherapy. Of course therapy in Gliwice would be a big hurdle , so contacted the Bydgoszcz Oncology and Andrew there has been stored on a visit to the plant radiation on Thursday - 07.11 . Andrew also registered a commission on Bydgoszcz Oncology on Wednesday at 6.11. at 9.30 in the morning. The committee was not easy , but thanks to the recommendations of Doctor of Oncology in Gliwice been written on the visit was commissioned to radiotherapy. This is not all simple. Andrew heard that the radical radiotherapy does not qualify as a palliative in terms of a total or not ... You have to fight hard for their rights . About their right to be treated !
Apparently because of CyberKnife'a could be considered for a trip to Gliwice yet failed referral for radiotherapy and agree with the doctor in Bydgoszcz and write in black and white that Andrzej Wroblewski is due to appear in the Department of Radiotherapy in Bydgoszcz and that is t fixed telephone alters the things - the patient suddenly qualify for radiotherapy .
It 's unbelievable how much you have to fight against each other in sickness . How important is each word that you shall speak in your case and what presses , which wyprosi what is written , spoken , determined promised .
Who knows what would be the outcome of Wednesday's Commission if there is one sheet of A4 paper which brought in Gliwice .
Of course, the committee was another fight with each other. The time limits for radiation only at the end of November - 25th may 26th ...
Hopefully our guardian angel helped Andrew and managed to find a free date today !
This morning Andrew was on Oncology in Fordon .
It turned out, however, that radiation will not begin until Tuesday , daily for 5 days to Saturday inclusive .
Today we made only on the fast tomography without contrast , to accurately mark the position of irradiation .
We look forward to Tuesday , then.

Day 286 - tomorrow we go to the Clinic in Gliwice
Dear Friends!
Thanks to our beloved Aunt Beatka, we learned about a possible treatment options Oncology Centre in Gliwice. Available equipment there called cyber knife allows execution by radiation therapy. From watching a TV program that Aunt that lymph node does not disqualify a patient for this treatment. Thus was born the next hope for improving the health of Andrew.
Tomorrow we're going to Gliwice. On Thursday at 7 o'clock in the morning we have to appear in the register. Then Andrew will consult, where doctors qualify him or not to therapy and allow it time.
It is not known whether he can but try.

There is already a decision about further Andrew's treatment
Professor Ramlau suggested Andrew to try to take the chemotherapy in London, because there is more possibilities of refundation chemioteraphy like Alimta and Tarceva. Here he would have had only chemioteraphy called Taxol but there is no guarantee that it will help that's why doctors gave him that advice.
About 15.03 Andrew with Kamila have a train from Poznan to Bydgoszcz. We take them out of the station and we will be thinking about how things continue to organize.
We have to keep fighting it?!!!!

Day 278 - Andrew at the hospital in Poznań
Day two hundred seventy-eight.
Andrew called me on a Saturday late in the evening and said that he felt very bad because of shortness of breath at rest. He said he wanted to return as soon as possible and go to the Polish Poznan to hospital. They booked with Kamila tickets from London early Sunday afternoon.
We went to pick up their airports in Gdansk and we drove Andrew to Poznan. It was a difficult night but everything was finished successfully - I was afraid that we will not accept this at night, but fortunately it worked. Although he slept in the hallway but most importantly, they took him on a branch!

Day two hundred sixty-- good news!
Hello Dear Friends!
Behind us, a few more days. Last week, Andrew took a blood test to check levels of platelets - the result was not satisfactory - 60 000 units. Mrs. Dr. Smith said that it is possible that he will have to roll the blood but recommended Andrew to make a second test for three days later and on Monday, the score was 260 000 units.
We called a doctor from the hospice and Andrew is now under professional care professionalists who will help him fight the bad days plagued with pain and shortness of breath. He has already written a prescription and bought drugs for this purpose.
This morning Andrew is in Poznań. He went with an antiemetic drug Emend to prevent this terrible vomiting that accompanied him after the last administration of cisplatin.
And now beware!
In today's blood test, platelets was up 750 000!! We are very pleased with this result - it is a large supply of platelets and that is very important because the Gemzar captures much of their level.
Andrew has already received a bed in the ward, and patiently waits for the chemistry.
Tomorrow my Tomuś will take him back home.
Hug you tight write soon!

Day two hundred forty-five - Andrew after chemistry, tomorrow refill the second component
Dear Friends!
Mother took Andrew last Wednesday to Poznań, I picked him on Friday. Bad endured the chemioterapy, because he did not receive a drug antiemetic Ement, only an injection every thing seems to not really work. He learned that in order to take it would have to have taken out a prescription (for Oncology in Bydgoszcz got it mandatory - you can see what has since changed). Now we know, and the subsequent administration of cisplatin will be prepared, we will buy a prescription drug at the pharmacy. In any case, vomited several times a day with an accuracy of one minute virtually every half-hour. The worst was Friday. Fortunately, the day-to-day nausea slowly subsided.
Tomorrow refill of Gemzar - friend Victor will take Andrew to Poznan, we are happy because we know that he loves to spend time with him. They will return the same day.
Today at 03:00PM Andrew goes to the ENT. Cisplatin can be felt in the ears and squeaks Dr. Nowak asked him to state audited ears today to know and have a point of reference in the further course of treatment.
Greetings to you hot!
