Dear Friends!

Today we are launching ‘Cancer Warriors Foundation’ (pol. „Fundacja Wojownicy Raka”) that will hopefully help to collect the funds for Andrew’s treatment. Here you will be able to learn how Andrew is feeling, what he is doing, what obstacles he is facing each day, what challenges he is going through, but also what makes him smile and makes his heart happy.
If you have any questions or comments you may direct them to wojownicyraka@gmail.com.
We ask for your help and for your donations through this Fundation. For all your kindness we would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts.

Andrew in Clinic in Germany.

Since last Tuesday (Jan. 8th) Andrew has been in Dr. Herzog’s clinic in Germany (http://www.fachklinikdrherzog.de). Starting with first day Andrew was provided with full body hyperthermia.
Tomorrow next day of therapy. We pray and cross our fingers!

FRIDAY, JANUARY 11, 2013

Day third.

Today is the third day since Andrew has been admitted into the clinic in Germany. He had local hyperthermia, magnetic-field therapy, and he was given number of IVs. The role of these IVs is to rapidly strenghten his body and to build up his immune system so he can fight against the cancer.
Andrew is asleep at this time. Tomorrow morning he will get another local hyperthermia. Every other day,  the hyperthermia is targeting Andrew’s abdomen area, where he has metastases to the lymph nodes alternately, with hyperthermia targeting his chest (both lungs). One day abdomen, the other lungs, IVs, magnetic-field therapy, and all over again.

Day Four
Good news today!
We got green light to transfer 1% of tax return for Andrew’s treatment through Arc’s Fundation from Bydgoszcz (pol. Fundacja Arka). You can find more info about this on the tab:’ Przekaz 1%’ (Donate 1%)
We ask you to spread this information around as much as you can and we thank you in advance.
Today Andrew had IVs and hyperthermia therapy. Lately, but especially just few days prior to chemo he suffers from very uncomfortable back pain, however,  to minimize the treatment costs Andrew decided to reject the massages offered by the clinic. The massage would  relieve the pain, but it wouldn’t have any significant effect on cancer treatment.
Bye!

Day Five

Andrew started his Saturday morning with the local hyperthermia and was given detoxification fluids through an IVdrip. He got lots of rest today. Tomorrow he will have a chance to get even more rest as Sunday is a day off in the clinic.
On Monday at 4 PM Andrew is meeting with Dr. Herzog who will discuss the plan for the future therapy and will go over the blood work results. We are looking forward to Andrew’s meeting with the doctor tomorrow.
Goodnight everyone!

Day Seven

Today is Monday. At 7 AM Andrew was already done with today’s hyperthermia and detoxifiation IV’s. At 9:30 AM Andrew had magnetic-field therapy. At 11:30 AM he had ozone therapy.
In regards to today’s meeting with the doctor, Andrew learned that the blood work showed good results. The doctor prescribed some medications in form of IVs that Andrew will continue taking after his return to home in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
At this time Andrew is already resting before another day.
Exactly in a week he is coming back to us :)

TUESDAY, JAN.15, 2013-01-31

Day Eight

This morning just as usual Andrew had a local hyperthermia, was provided IVs, and had magnetic-field therapy. Yesterday I mentioned the ozone therapy. Today I will try to explain what it is and the purpose of it. In ozone therapy, Dr. Herzog takes out 150 milliliters of Andrew’s blood, mixes the blood with the ozone gas, shakes the blood, and returns it to the body. The cancer cells don’t like oxygen and ozone and they can’t grow in this environment. Besides killing cancer cells, the ozone therapy helps in building up the immune system of the body. The body is more energized and has more strenght.
On January 24th, during Andrew’s fifth cycle of chemo he will have a CT scan performed. At that time we will be able to find out if the methods used by Dr. Herzog are helping with the fight against the cancer cells. The results of the CT scan will be send over to Dr. Herzog’s clinic for evaluation.
Dear friends, in a week we are going to pick up Andrew from the airport in Gdansk and he will be finally with us :)
Goodnight!

Day Nine – Wednesday

Dear friends, we would like to inform you that we received the first donations from you for Andrew’s treatment. Thank you all so much! We trully appraciate your warm and giving hearts and there are no words to express our gratitude. We collected almost 1000 PL ZL which from our calculations will cover one day of therapy in Dr. Herzog’s clinic. Once again we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
When it comes to Andrew, he is behind another day of hyperthermia, IV injections, magnetic-field therapy, and ozone therapy.
Just 5 more days and he will be back :)

Day Ten

Today our Andrew had his usual set of therapies together with IVs. At night he went to swim at the clinic’s swimming pool. Swimming helps him with the back pain and allows him to relax.
When I spoke with him at night, he just finished walking up the stairs at the hotel he is staying at. The climbing up the stairs to the first floor exhausted him so much that he allowed me to talk for a while he was taking a rest.
The good news is that now he takes only 1.5 pill for pain at night and not every 3 hours as it has been in the past.
Time to sleep. Goodnight everyone!
